Hey! I’m Emily, and I’m glad you stopped by to visit my small piece of the internet! This is a blog focusing on the process of reaching my ultimate goal of being able to travel the world. A lot of the time you can find countless blogs all focusing on the places someone has been to. ‘This is what I did here’, ”here’s the top 10 places you need to visit’, etcetera etcetera. They already have what they want, and never describe how they got there. Or at least, they include a very short summary without much detail included.
This blog is from the perspective of the average 20-year-old: someone who wants to travel. Someone who wants to adventure out into the world but isn’t really sure on how to do it, nevermind if they actually can. Tea Stained Passports is going to be a recollection of memories, experiences and advice from someone starting the process of reaching that goal, including all the ups, downs and weird middle bits in between.
Although this blog is for anyone who is willing to read it, I’m mainly writing for people around my own age. For us, this is the awkward part of life where everyone expects you to have a plan, a decent amount of income, and the balancing skills of a clown on a trapeze. We don’t need to stick to the traditional ways of the world; personally, that whole scheme bores the hell out of me. If anything, travelling can be that much-needed break from that cycle of life… Or a new way for you to live your life. We all need to travel at some point, and we don’t have to wait for retirement. Anyone can travel the world in this weird way of life we all live in. Hopefully, I can prove that to you.
If you’d like to stick around and sip some tea with me, then you can expect a new post published every Saturday evening. There will undoubtedly be some changes every now in then as I swim through the endless black hole of information that comes with both blogging and travel writing… With that in mind, hold on to your mug and keep reading!
